jahverson Wow, this is an excellent release. I’m a bit of a Slackers obsessive, and after one listen this stands as a great unique release. Having Vic on piano gives many of the songs a different arrangement that I really dig. By far the highlight of this recent spate of Slackers obscurities.

This album was recorded in September of 2007. Not quite sure as to how or why, but we were invited to KUT as part of the promotion for our album Peculiar.

We were initially supposed to only record 3 songs but we just started having so much fun, we ended up laying down a whole set of music.

Radio broadcasts always sound great. Something about the compression they use?

And this studio was special. It had a baby grand piano. Vic was in heaven and you can hear it in his playing.

Plus for some forgotten reason, we had Glen Hackett subbing for Ara for these shows. And for whatever reason, Hackett had a great day in the studio. Probably his best day playing with us. He found a deep groove that inspired all the other players.

The Wasted Days version is almost like a New Orleans or Stax version. Check it out!

Like I said, these sessions are funky and soulful. We were having fun so KUT just let us record way more than they needed for the broadcast and interview.
