All of these tracks were recorded between 2009 and 2011 at Harz Kraft Hof Studios in Berlin by Jochen Stroeh. We did several sessions where we came right off the road and recorded tracks with Jochen. The bus would literally load up, we would drop off people and then we would start recording.

It was a funny studio that fit the Slackers quirky sensibilities. Only 3 drum mics. Jochens' operating system was a mix of analog gear with something that resembled an old Atari computer from the 1980s.

But it all worked. And we were able to record a huge amount of tracks in a very short amount of time.

And being in Berlin was fun. The town has great vibes and fit into the Slackers's sensibilities.

So I hope you enjoy these sessions. Listening back they definitely have a playful edge to them. The band is in a comfortable space and felt like they could mess around.
